Cancer Awareness & The Presence Of Magnetic Caps

By Robert Sutter

Those who are invested in cancer awareness will be able to tell you that there is a multitude of strategies worth implementing. I think that some of them are more effective than others, especially when they have been modified over the course of time. Recently, though, the topic of magnetic caps has come to my attention after a story was read. The story in question has been able to instill the idea that more results could come about as the procedure is slowly but surely built upon.

CBS New York wrote an article talking about how a new magnetic cap would be put into effect, being able to help patients possessing brain cancer. The Novocure cap in question would be able to produce an electric field around the brain, which the electrodes within would be responsible for. The field in question would soon utilize a certain level of strength in order to work against cancer cells. Seeing as how the field can disrupt the nature of these cells to move apart, it's a procedure that's worth noting.

While this cap has been formed, it has also been tested numerous times in order to find substantial results. The article talked about this, saying the cap was put into place along with a cancer drug, being administered to around 250 patients. The results showed that the side effects of chemotherapy, which is a commonly utilized procedure amongst those afflicted with this condition, were not present. In addition - and this is probably more important - it can help to increase a patient's life by a few months' time.

The article also talked to a small degree about the brain and the number of side effects that could be linked to the usage of such caps. The scalp was said to be warmer following the usage of these items but there has been nothing else to cite apart from that. Cancer awareness is increased in order to bring more information to the forefront, whether you're talking about various procedures or what have you. Chemo, for instance, can damage brain cells beyond repair; this is just one instance talked about by organizations the likes of Voices against Brain Cancer.

While on the subject of the Novocure cap, though, I think that this is one that can help patients out if it is researched to a deeper extent. It seems like it can already help in terms of extending the lives of patients, if even to a small degree. If it has this potential, imagine what else it can do if it is given much more focus. It's an item that more than deserves it and I am sure that those who are invested in cancer awareness in general will be able to say the same.
