How Brain Cancer Remedies Can Be Found Because Of Small Steps

By Rob Sutter

Finding cures for brain cancer has proven to be difficult but I don't know if people understand just how hard it could be. The problem is that these tumors are complex that it's tough to look at them and pinpoint where the problems seem to lie. There are many proteins and substances found in these growths, which only adds to the difficult nature that these growths process. When it comes to research, it might be best to take the smallest of steps going forward.

I read an article on the Medical Xpress website that told about a drug by the name of Avastin, which works to help tumors. Essentially, they cause the tumors to decrease in size but the problem therein is that they often grow back to their previous size rather quickly. While this might seem like a failure in theory, I believe it can only help researchers understand these growths better. With a drug called dasatinib, it seems like the spread of tumors can stop.

I believe that research on this matter is the most trying because of how slowly it has to be done. These tumors have proven to be complex and with several enzymes and chains of protein to consider, it's apparent why cures are difficult to come to fruition. As a result, the people who operate in this field often hit many roadblocks when, in my opinion, they should not have to. I believe that they are fully able to take the help from others and utilize it well, though.

There are companies such as Voices Against Brain Cancer, which have my respect due to their capabilities in bringing people together. There are several events that people can take part in that awareness can be raised on the issue and individuals are able to help on the matter, too. Brain cancer is, in my mind, the cause that deserves the highest amount of attention. People want these events to succeed but I think that the positive attitudes of the participants can make it happen.

I wish that I could offer more support to brain cancer awareness because I feel like there's not enough help that can be given to it. While it's clear that there's a large group of people who want to be able to help, who's to say that it can't expand in time? People are, for the most part, goodhearted and if they see a cause in which people are in need, they are going to work to make success come about. I can only hope that more people join the cause and see that cures will be found in the future.
